Medicare Supplements

Also known as Medigap Plans, these plans can fill in the gaps on Original Medicare, such as Deductable, Co-insurance, and Co-payments.

These plans are secondary to Original Medicare and allow individuals to see any Medicare provider but do not include prescription drug coverage.

Medicare Advantage

Medicare Advantage is an “all in one” alternative to Original Medicare. These “bundled” plans include Part A, Part B, and usually Part D and may have lower out of pocket costs than Original Medicare.

Some plans offer extra benefits that Original Medicare doesn’t cover – like vision, hearing, or dental.

Medicare Savings Plans

These plans offer high-deductible health plans plus a special medical savings account. Each year, you will receive a deposit from Medicare into your account. You decide how to spend, save, and/or invest the funds.

You are responsible for expenses until you reach the plan deductible at which point the plan pays Medicare-covered expenses.

FAQs

When should I start looking at Medicare plans?

It’s best to start reviewing your options a few months before you turn 65. This gives you time to understand your choices and avoid gaps in coverage.

What’s the difference between Medicare Supplement and Medicare Advantage?

Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plans work alongside Original Medicare to help cover out-of-pocket costs like deductibles and coinsurance. Medicare Advantage plans are all-in-one alternatives that often include additional benefits like dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage.

Do I need a separate prescription drug plan?

If you have Original Medicare, you’ll typically need a standalone Part D plan for prescription coverage. Many Medicare Advantage plans already include drug coverage.

Can I see any doctor with Medicare?

With Original Medicare and a Supplement plan, you can generally see any provider that accepts Medicare. Medicare Advantage plans may use provider networks, depending on the plan.

How do I know which plan is best for me?

That depends on your health needs, budget, and preferences. We help compare plans side-by-side so you can make a confident decision.

Not sure which plan is right for you?

Insurance can get complicated fast—but it doesn’t have to be. We’ll walk you through your options and help you find a plan that actually fits your needs and your budget.
